This is more than just a store; it is a chronicle of a musical journey that spans over two decades, named in honor of the band where much of it began: The Glass Beads.
The Story of The Glass Beads
Our story starts with a band. The Glass Beads were a unique folk-rock-alternative group that became a notable force in Sonoma County. The heart of the band was frontman and singer-songwriter Kevin Kennedy, whose insightful lyrics and strong, clear voice defined their sound.
The band’s dynamic was powered by the exceptional talents of its members. The music soared with the intricate guitar solos of Deependra Rai, who had previously played in the band Full Circle in his native Nepal. The rhythm section was perfectly anchored by the grounded presence of bassist Ryan Brady, the elegant and sophisticated playing of classically trained pianist Ellen Deproto, and the impeccable timing of drummer Rick Cutler, whose powerful style was the engine of the band’s energy.
The Artist: Kevin Kennedy
The central thread connecting all of this music is Kevin Kennedy. For over 20 years, Kevin Michael Nutt aka Kevin Kennedy has been writing songs and performing in and around Sonoma County. With a strong taste for the honesty and melody of 60s folk and rock, his music is built on a foundation of authentic storytelling.
As a solo artist, Kevin’s work continues to explore the lyrical and musical themes that have defined his career, carrying forward the spirit of his earlier projects while forging a new path.
